The Federation of Fishing of the Rhone realizes and can carry out on request of electric fishings:
- of rescue, before work on the rivers of the department.
- of inventory, within the framework of scientific studies, for the contracts of river, etc
As example, the federation carries out electric fishings by environment in boat since 2001 on the Saone, on behalf of Large Lyon.

The Federation takes part in the follow-up of the dead arms and lônes of the Saone in particular. These zones act on water quality, provide to fish zones of reproduction and enlargement which support alevins and youthful, but also constitute zones of refuge at the time of the risings. However, following the domestication of the rivers, these privileged mediums disappear. It is thus essential to follow their evolution and to preserve or restore their functionality.

The Federation is committed in the follow-up of the crayfish populations to white feet, Austropotamobius pallipes. This vulnerable species in strong regression is sensitive to all the categories of pollution: it constitutes an excellent indicator of quality of water.
